what a lovely day!

slept late, went to the gym, picked up a few things, took Jonatha out to dinner to celebrate the last night of her 28th year… We then went to see Stick It- that new gymnastics movie.  which was LOVELY and cute, and, at times, funny!  in an observational way.  i wasn't expecting much intellectual stimulation, which was fine with me.  pure entertainment, and Jonatha shreiked with laughter a few times!  Always an adventure!!

now, off to BED and back to work tomorrow.  and it's day TWELVE. lovin' this!!!!!  ;)

Peace!

i've JUST created what i'm sure will be a recipe to be passed along many, many future generations:

"Confused Chicken"

Ahh yes, there has been Chicken Mary-Lee, Arroz con Pollo, tater-baked chicken, Chicken Marsala, Fried Chicken, Chicken Nuggets, Chicken a la King, Chicken Wings…

But tonight, we have evolved.

in my post-grocery-shopping-Euphoria, i decided i'd take the ground chicken and vidalia onions i'd just bought, cook 'em up together, add rice and… there must be something ELSE i can use! To make it more… DARK beige!

Before i continue, i have to make it clear and put it on the table: I have an addiction to onions. In so so many ways.

French Onion Soup.

In my delight at onion to anything-else ratio being so high, i failed to recognize that French Onion Soup sits in BEEF stock. Not chicken. Not chicken at ALL.

This occurred to me as i emptied the french onion soup into the happily popping pan of chicken & vidalia onions. The rice just bubbled away, not mentioning anything.

Now, i consider myself a pretty smart person. I'm constantly keeping educated on politics, history, current situations in the world… I'm reading smart, insightful books, i'm considering life on a regular basis, pondering clever ideas and profound epiphanies (which Joanna calls "Realizing the bloody obvious")…

But sometimes i just don't think.

So i've tried a few bites of Confused Chicken, but it's much too hot to taste. So it's on the couch, cooling, while i write. The sox are down 6-0 to Cleveland, the laundry's almost done, and i've had a really great day so far. Hope the Confused Chicken's as good as i don't think it'll be. (ponder THAT!)

I've got TWO DAYS OFF IN A ROW!  It's a WEEKEND!  This is a rare thing indeed…

So i'm about to head out to the gym, maybe go grocery shopping… do laundry… and then tomorrow, Jonatha and i are going to the MOVIES!  Her birthday is Saturday, and i can't play 'cause i'm a keyholder that day (grr) at work.  So that'll be lovely.

anyway, enough talk, gotta go get sweaty!  RAH!

Peace!

what a day!

i'm getting my period. (sorry, Chris, Mike & Paul…) Along with that, i'm getting that Period-Sad. Crying at kitty litter commercials, constantly reminding myself that it's hormonal… Finding the humor in it, actually, which is a fun little perspective!

Work dragged.  And if i couldn't be with the one i loved, i wanted to love the one i'm with, namely, me.  So i went home, fired up the heating pad, grabbed my most comfy blanket and Mrs. PillowMan, and watched the "new" Charlie & The Chocolate Factory.

At first, i was not expecting it to be like the old one exactly (one look at the previews and you can figure out why pretty fast), and i was trying to keep an open mind.

Overall, i thought it was good!  A great take on the book, and i think that SO much time, FUN time, must have been taken to come up with all the elaborate, intricate, exciting ideas for every detail of that film.  Very cool to see so much work come together so imaginatively.

It was a good day, considering the PMS.  Even not considering the PMS, it was a good day!  AND i got to run into my girls, Nina & Heather!  That was a total bonus-surprise.

AND in (a little over!) 2 hours, it will be DAY 16. that's TWO WEEKS AND TWO DAYS.  Yes.

:)

you know what's nice?

Black Swan Shiraz & Merlot.

Usually i'm not so much into Merlot.  You bring Merlot to a party when you don't really care who is there.  Merlot's never really excited me.  But this little combo is one of my favorites.

i'm CURRENTLY trying to find:

-Jekel Vineyards Riesling (one of the wine stores i went to said he'd "try" to order it for me.  Do or do not!  There is no try!)

-Esporao Cabernet.  It's Portugese.  I had some when i went to a local restaurant, Barcelona.  It was TASTY!  And hard to find.  Hell!

I like being on a mission about it though.  And i tried ordering the riesling, but JV doesn't ship to CT.  Bastardos!  err… bastardenzeest!

I've got the night off.  And a bottle of wine that my step-cousin-in-law (yes) MADE HIMSELF!  Way to go, Armond!  Time to taste the local stuff…….

Solomon & I went to the movies tonight to see "Thank You For Smoking". Great little movie!!!

And the sox fell to the Blue Jays tonight. Damn. They put up a good fight, but we've still got the rest of the weekend to go with them. I suppose we can't win 'em ALL….

Pictures of my recent adventures will be up ASAP, but until then, here's some pictures to tide you (and me) over!
