drive to the Bushnell

meet everyone from Wait Wait Don’t Tell Me

Photograph the live show (before and after) until about 10:30

go back to Mel’s hotel and chat with Carl Kasell for an hour.  Hug him six (count ‘em) times through out the night.

I am amazed and dazed

and SO TIRED, but i have to leave the house in an hour (at 2:45am) to drive to ma & guy’s so they can drive me to the airport to get on a plane for a 5:30 flight to denver (eventually).

Praying for deep sleep on the plane.  Praying to myself.

WOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

 So this is lovely.

I’m in Vermont, photographing my very first wedding, which happens to be the wedding of my ex, Joanna, to her girlfriend, Tiffany.

Funny, she took years and years to get over, and now i’m SO honored and excited to be photographing them, stalking them a little to get that photo that no one else would have gotten… I also brought up some recording equipment to record the ceremony, and last night i interviewed them separately about each other, which was cute… i’d love to learn how to make a slideshow with audio.

Anyway. it’s just really nice to see proof of evolution, on so many levels. on mine, hers, theirs… And i’ve got a few hours to myself right now while they go get manicures and massages – which are not my “bag” so i’m staying in to write and read and relax in this beautiful Vermont. The drive up was initially all highway, and then my GPS got me onto a scenic route that just blew my mind. The scenery was so so so beautiful. And i’ve forced myself to NOT photograph every damn thing. I realize that i’m at the point where i’ll miss out on the views and experiences because i’m photographing them. i’ve gotta be able to train myself to know the difference in appropriate timing for myself while my experience is still relatively young. Not a habit i want to try to change after 20 years of missing out on being really present at important (or unimportant) moments.

Anyway. time to read, hoping the rain holds off for a nice outdoor wedding…
